Poet & SPOKEN WORD ARTIST Creative Bio
Born Clint D. Johnson, a Los Angeles native, dubbed “Mr. Ice” by his peers because of his cool and mellow demeanor, began his career as a lyricist at the age of 18 as a member of Pioneering Hip Hop Ensemble, “The Rapper’s Rap Group”. The group, later named "Dark Star", was the first such act signed to the "Rapper's Rap Disco Company, and later to American Variety International Records (AVI). He is furthering his writing career and vocal performances under the pen name of Saint Ice. As a successful Spoken Word Artist he has toured numerous locations in Southern California. Saint Ice has co-hosted the "Bless the Mic Showcase" in Antelope Valley, and along with Poet, Ronigirl, headlined "The Grown Folks Gospel Poetry Tour". On the social network scene you can find his poetry under Drops of Ice. in the early 2000's his flow can be found on a track with Gospel Recording Artist Marjane'. He has worked close with Marvin Paige of So Marvelous Entertainment and LA’s IQ Productions.
Saint Ice has a God given talent to create personalized rhythmic poetry and speak life into them. Lending his sound to rap, voice-overs, audio dramas facilitation, teaching and the preached word, Ice has been called witty, articulate, thought provoking and prolific. He says he is simply using the gift that God has given him.
